Description and Responsibilities

Groundskeeper/Maintenance person for a family owned, 15 unit, 3 acre,  Mobile Home Park on Hatzic Island near Mission, B.C.  Mobile Home Park is a quiet park with many long term tenants.  Currently there are 8 owner occupied units and 7 rental units.   We are gradually renovating and selling the rental units with the end goal of having only three rental units to maintain, so therefore maintenance responsibilities will decrease over time.  Property is waterfront so there is a nice beach area with access to lake, boat launch, swimming area, common picnic area, as well as a large meadow located in the centre of the Park.

Job duties include seasonal groundskeeping work, i.e. mowing of common areas, such as meadow, front boulevard area, and waterfront area with ride on lawn mower, weed eating, pruning and trimming of hedges and trees. Insuring that garbage dumpster is not overflowing.  During power outages gas generator needs to be started and water pump to be plugged into generator.  Occasional small maintenance projects as they arise depending upon the applicants qualifications and experience.  Meeting with tradespeople for larger projects.

Expectation of hours worked per a week is approximately 10 to 15  hours per a week, applicant must be flexible as hours and days worked will fluctuate depending upon the season and the needs that arise.


Applicant needs to have experience with  groundskeeping and how to operate and maintain basic gardening equipment, such as lawnmower, weed eater, hedge trimmer etc.

Applicants must be responsible, mature, professional, polite, self driven, individuals who are  aware of what tasks need to be done on a day to day basis in order to maintain the park in a clean and acceptable condition.

Applicants must be available to tenants (i.e. on call)  if an immediate need arises such as power outage.  Past property management experience is an asset but is not required.  Applicants must have good communication skills and be able to relate to all type of people, in person, over the phone, or via email etc.


In lieu of a wage, a small one bedroom half duplex, with all appliances, parking, and utilities, will be supplied. No onsite washer or dryer is provided.
