Mainland Floral Distributors is a Wholesale Grower and Shipper of quality potted plants and cut flowers. We service independent grocery stores, wholesale and retail florists, nurseries and garden centres. Our customers are primarily located in the Lower Mainland, BC Interior, Alberta, Washington, Oregon, and a few in Alaska and elsewhere in the US.

Description and Responsibilities

We currently have an opening for a team member to run our shipping department in the greenhouse.

The successful candidate for this position will be able to perform the following tasks on a daily basis:

– picking of orders for direct shipment to our local customers
– picking of orders for our wholesale division for shipping to our “out of town customers”
– leading the crew while picking of orders
– ensuring all documentation for the GCP (Greenhouse Certification Program) is in order, for outgoing as well as incoming product
– sales of product to local customers
– preparation of shipments to go the the United Flower Growers Auction, and documentation of such shipments
– buying of supplemental product from outside sources in Ontario, Florida, and California

Requirements

In this position you will be working closely with the greenhouse grower, as well as with the operations manager on the wholesale side of the business.
