Southwest Smiles Dental Clinic is looking for a full time Dental Hygiene Coordinator to join our growing team. Applicants must have a minimum of 3 years’ experience. The successful candidate will be knowledgeable in both the clinical and administrative side of dentistry, be driven by results, be proactive in filling the schedule, and have a passion for building patient relationships. Evenings and weekends are required.

–  A foundational role of the coordinator will be to maintain a busy and productive hygiene department.   Efficient scheduling and utilization of available clinical infrastructure.  Many hours per day will be focused on calling patients, scheduling appointments and auditing recall lists.

–  New / returning patient concierge.  This role is patient facing and will often be the point of first patient contact within the clinic.  New patients are greeted and given a tour of the facilities, they are introduced to the clinical and administrative team who will be managing their care.  Patients are introduced to the technology and the philosophy of the clinic.

– Administration of insurance benefits and financial matters.  Hygiene diagnosis and treatment planning is reviewed on an annual basis.  The coordinators role will be to coordinate benefits and pre authorize upcoming treatment.  The coordinator will have a comprehensive understanding of each patient’s insurance benefit and have the ability to build value in the continuation of an optimized periodontal treatment plan if it falls outside the patient’s insurance benefit.

– The coordinator will be responsible for monitoring the performance of the clinical team.  Frequent auditing of charting and diagnosis will occur to maintain a high clinical standard of the hygienists.
